Computational resources of the group:
The research activity of the Functional Bioinformatics group in data analysis and data management demands a high performance computing environment that is robust, secure, scalable and powerful computational resources. Currently we have the following infrastructure:
Located at the National Center for Biotechnology-CSIC:
56 cores in total and 7 TB hard disk distributed as follow:
- 4 x Dell Power Edge 2 x Xeon X5660 2'8, 48GB RAM, 1.5 TB HD (32 cores in total)
- 2 x Apple Xserve 2*Xeon 2'6, 24GB RAM, 6 TB HD (16 cores in total)
- 1 x MacPro 2*Xeon 2'4, 8GB
RAM, 1 TB HD (8 cores in total)
Located at the Complutense University of Madrid:
- 4 x Server Sun Fire x4150 (32 cores in total): Each Sun Fire x4150 server has two Quad core Intel Xeon processors, 16GB of memory, 4 146 GB SAS(10krpm) disks and infiniband network.
- Workstation #1: This workstation has two 2.0 GHz AMD Opteron processors, 8 GB of memory and 300 GB of local disk.
- Workstation #2: This workstation has four 3.4 GHz Intel Xeon processors, 4 GB of memory and 250 GB of local disk.
